From April 24–26, nearly 70 members gathered in Hell, just outside Trondheim (yes, the place is actually called Hell), for our Annual General Meeting and National Conference.

Chairman Roy A. Farstad and boardmembers Gunvor Svorken and Anne Kari Anderdal.

Friday began with regional leaders’ meetings and a peer support gathering, followed by the Annual General Meeting, where we aproved a new strategy and action plan, elected a new board, and decided to change the association’s name from “NET-kreftforeningen CarciNor” to “NET-kreftforeningen”.

On Saturday and Sunday, the National Conference continued with valuable presentations: Gunnhild Jakobsen (St. Olavs hospital, the university hospital in Trondheim) spoke about good sleep during cancer, Are Kristensen (also St. Olavs Hospital) covered NET cancer in general and PRRT treatment, and Frode Skanke (formerly senior physician at Unicare Røros) addressed late effects and fatigue. The weekend also included experience sharing in smaller groups, and a panel discussion featuring two members sharing their experiences of living with cancer, before ending with information and promotion of our peer support work.

The weekend offered new knowledge, new connections, enjoyable social gatherings, and not least, plenty of great food!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated! We are already looking forward to next year, when we will celebrate our 30th anniversary!
